In the attack with Nibali and Riblon

Zdenek showed him today in the second stage of the Tour of Poland. Our Czech was a member of the early break. “What a stage! I felt good, but at the end, on the Passo Pordoi, I had to let go of the rest. But my stage was not so bad.”

“After 25 kilometer I rode away with group of fifteen. There were some big names, such as Vincenzo Nibali, Christophe Riblon and my teammate Serge Pauwels. We didn’t stay for a long time together, because on the Passo Paompeago Nibali took off.”

Styby succeeded with Riblon, winner of a stage in de Tour, to close the gap to the winner of the Giro. “Later some other guys came back and we were with seven. But just before the final clumb, Nibali had to let us go. And then I thought there might be something in it.”

Everything went well, until the last five kilometers. “After six hours the power in my legs was gone. The peloton came over me. Too bad, but okay for my second race day. I had a wattage of 312 in sex hours and fifteen minutes.”

“Now we’re riding by bus (for four hours!) to the airport, were we fly to Krakow. Tomorrow there is a rest day. Overall, this was a long and hard day today”, concluded Styby, who was 38th at 8’42” from stage winner Riblon, who managed to stay in front.
