San Sebastian

San Sebastian

Zdenek had some busy couple of weeks. After the Tour de France, where he attacked in the final kilometers of the final stage at the Champs-Elysées, he rode some criteriums and the Clasica San Sebastian. “I really love that race.”

“I rode San Sebastian for the fifth time now. I expected a lot of it”, our favourite admits. “But I also knew the final climb of 20% would be too difficult for me. And it was. I came too short against the better climbers.” Styby finished 26th.

“I had a terrible start, but later in the race I felt better and better. I had the feeling the race was 30 kilometers too short, even though the race was 230 kilometers long. My result wasn’t the best, but I did enjoy the race.”

Before and after San Sebastian our Czech champion was also active in some criteriums. IN Surhuisterveen, Ninove and Putte he became seventh, fifth and third respectively. In the coming weeks he will take some time off. His next race will bet he GP of Plouay.
