Crash in the final

Crash in the final

The sixth stage of the Tour de Suisse had to be one for Mark Cavendish. However, it was Peter Sagan who was the fastest again and won his second stage. Styby crashed in the final, fortunately without consequences.

“It was a pretty flat stage and so we went with Cavendish for a stage victory. We had to drop him in the best possible position, but it went wrong in the final. It rained and the roads were very slippery. And then there was a corner which was not signalized.”

Styby drove at a speed of 60 kilometer per hour in the front of the pack. “I had to hit the brakes a little and I crashed. My teammate and roommate Julien Vermote could not avoid me and crashed also.”

“I feel guilty for Julien and the team, because he can’t start in the next race. We will miss him in the coming days.”
