The season starts tomorrow

With the Vuelta a Murcia on Saturday and the Clasica de Almeria on Sunday the season of Styby really starts this weekend. “I’m happy that I can ride with a number on my back again. That has now been four months ago.”

“I’ve missed racing really hard the last couple of months. I’ve never had so long time without racing. I’m not sure what to expect this weekend. I do not feel bad at training, but I’ll probably miss some racingkilometers at the beginning for sure.”

The two races in Spain will be a preparation. “And the Volta ao Algarve, which then follows, too. I want to be in a good shape for the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne end of this month. In two weeks already.”

“But first Murcia. The race won’t be easy, because there is a tough climb with 40 kilometers to go and also at the end there is a short but steep climb to the finish. I’m curious what I can show there. Sunday in Almeria there will be probably a sprint, so Mark Cavendish is our leader there.”
