Zdenek has become fifth in the cyclocross in Loenhout. On the muddy track our Czech champion made too many mistakes to ride for the podium. “Maybe I felt a little bit better than yesterday. Pity that I make the mistakes though.”
A group of ten led the race in the beginning, but after a few laps Sven Nys and Niels Albert attacked. Styby was able to close the gap together with Rob Peeters, but our man made too many little mistakes and he had to let go the leaders. “The rain turned the track into a muddy round in no time.”
“This afternoon, during the warming up, it began to rain and the fast track was suddenly very muddy. Some of my laps were perfect without mistakes, but other ones were horrible. I felt good, maybe better than yesterday. I’m not in a good shape yet, but it’s getting better and better.”
