OPQS just misses victory with Tony Martin

Omega Pharma-Quick Step almost took the victory in the sixth stage of the Tour of Spain. Tony Martin rode alone all day and came thirty meters too short to win. “Damn it! This had been a historic victory”, Styby said after the finish.

“Tony rode alone for 177 kilometers and was caught just at the end. I think he stranded on thirty meters from the finish line. The last five kilometers was very exciting. We stopped off well, but apparently not good enough.”

Martin didn’t have a big gap in the final. “Everyone realized that if Martin would get a big advantage, we only could see him after the shower. It’s pity it didn’t work out. With me it was a little better than the last few days. So I’m god for that.”

“Tomorrow is a stage of 206 kilometer which is similar to the stage of today. Hopefully I recover well and I get ready for the second part of the Vuelta.”
