Kuurne

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne was last Sunday. I didn’t take part in the race, but I did follow it from the Omega Pharma – Quick Step team car with team leader Rik Van Slycke. It was a really fun experience. You can actually compare it to a 200 km cart race. The team leaders ride so close to one another that it’s real precision work.

There wasn’t too much work to do during the race. Andrew Fenn had to switch bikes and Gerald Ciolek got a new wheel after a flat. It all went so fast. It was fun to see. And yet it wasn’t a stress-free afternoon. I also enjoyed a lunch packet with some sandwhiches and fruit during the race. I was happy to be there. I really enjoyed it! :-)

After the race there was a team presentation for our sponsors. There were 1,500 people there. I have a few other things scheduled for the coming days. I have to test some bikes for Specialized and after that Ine and I are going to the Czech Republic for a few days. Then we’re off to St. Moritz! That’s when my vacation really begins! :-)

And yet with all this going on, I'm already missing my bike.
