No perfect ride, but better feeling

The sixth stage of the Dauphine was with six climbs again very difficult. Simon Spilak won, Styby finished four minute later in La Mure together with four of his teammates. “No perfect ride for us, but I still feel better every day.”

“It was a very difficult stage. Lots of riders tried to be in the breakaway, including me. But after 15 kilometers, there was a big crash and we were only left with 30 guys. Then we decided to wait until everyone could make it back to the peloton.”

When that happened, it went faster and faster. “Everyone really wanted to be in front. After the first climb, a group rode away and that was without me. In the descent we got behind the peloton together with our leader Michal Kwiatkowski.”

“We tried to bring him back, but it didn’t work out. I must say I am very impressed by teammate Kevin De Weert. Last year in the Vuelta he fell very bad and everyone thought it was the end of his career. But he came back and it gives me great pleasure to see him ride so fast. I have a lot of respect for him.”
