With the Amstel Gold Race on April 20 there came an end in the spring of Zdenek. Meanwhile, he’s been working hard to shine in the autumn. On June 8 Styby will start in the Dauphiné and later he goes for the national championships in the Czech Republic.
“After the Gold Race, I needed a week of rest”, says our favorite. “I spent a week in Mallorca with Ine. I have not touched the bike for a whole week. Instead, Ine and I made some nice trips. And of course I rested a lot too.”
But after that week Styby was also glad that he could ride his bike again. “In the beginning I just rode my kilometers, but then later I started to do some interval and I’ve ridden several times on my time trial bike.”
“After the hard training I had enough to do, because the Czech Republic was on the World Championship Hockey. And meanwhile the Giro started. Rigoberto Uran is now in pink! My team is very strong over there. I hope they can keep pink till the end.”
