The seventh stage in Paris-Nice was won by Tom-Jelte Slagter. The Dutchman was the fastest in a big group. Styby finished eighth and won a place in the general classification. “Only because Geraint Thomas crashed. It’s not cool to get the third place like that.”
“Today was again a hard stage with a lot of climbs. The peloton controlled the race very well. In the final it was sometimes difficult, but I was able the fight with the best. My goal was to finish together with them, and I made it, so I’m happy.”
Zdenek is now third in the GC and 26 seconds behind of leader Carlos Betancur. “Hopefully I can hold on that place in the short stage of tomorrow. It’s not going to be easy, because José Joaquin Rojas is only one second behind me.”
