The second stage of the Tour of Spain was a mountain stage. Nicholas Roche won, and Vincenzo Nibali took over the red leader jersey from Janez Brajkovic. Styby finished in the grupetto and came in as 148th in less than ten minutes behind the winner.
“I’m still a little tired of the Eneco Tour”, said Zdenek after the Alto Do Monte Da Groba. “The legs doesn’t turn as good as last week. I’ll need some extra days to recover. Today I finished in the grupetto, but not before I helped the team.”
Zdenek helped Kevin De Weert to a good position just before the final climb. “After that I rode quietly. Hopefully I recover quickly”, said our favorite, who gets an easier stage tomorrow in the third stage to Mirador de Lobeira.
