Sylvain Chavanel has won the individual time trial in the Eneco Tour. The French teammate of Zdenek was after 13 kilometers four seconds faster than Tom Dumoulin. Styby himself finished 23rd at 38 seconds, which was not bad at all.
“I was very motivated at the start because I was in front of the classification”, Zdenek said afterwards. “Oké, my result isn’t spectacular, but It’s one of my best time trials, so I can be happy. I’m now 24 seconds down, which is not too bad.”
There are still two stages to go. “And we are with three riders from Omega Pharma-Quick Step at the top of the classification, so there might be something possible. It will be a very interesting weekend. I look forward to it!”
